"Braids, fishnets ... it's pretty spectacular!"
A description of Toastkitten's sultry Friday night attire? Sadly, no. But this week's installment of Alias almost makes up for the fact that my real life was kind of a mess this week... My life (no not the one where I'm shacked up with lovely Michael Vartan in a mid-century modern beach pad, and have designer clothes and many exotic wigs in my closet, my real life), is still kind of in flux. What with working on a bunch of different freelance gigs and shlepping around town on the bus etc. (plus I still can't quite afford the hair I want) let's just say this wasn't my best week. At least I was treated to a stellar show on Wednesday night! SpyDaddies were scheming, Vaughn was injecting himself with an unknown substance in order to get the poop on Vaughn Père, and Marshall hugged Sloane in a fit of emotion! All that AND a minimum of Nadia! I couldn't have asked for a better mid-week pick me up. Loved It! Best ep of the season so far! Can't wait to see Vaughn go rogue. What will happen to poor Jack? What is Sloane's endgame? Will Syd ever say "I love You " to Vaughn, or Will Weiss finally come out of the closet and beat her to the punch? So many possibilities...
As far a my super geeky spy-fan websites are concerned, we are now done with stand alone episodes. No more villain-of-the-week. Thank God. In the next two months we can can expect full tilt continuity, story arcs, Derevko sisters and possibly Rambaldi. My friend from up North doubts that we will see a complete return to form this season, but at least JJ has one more turn at bat to make it right....

Maybe jj needs to hear from us...or maybe not. This summer, we should rent the first season and watch it projected in the studio...we could do an Alias marathon.

E,
Man, do I HATE the title sequence!!!! I used to think that the original was so cool with the light flairs and blinking text. I kind of liked that JJ didn't flash passed missions/costume changes in our face - I felt it kind of gave the show a timeless quality, in a way. But this new disco-remix and ONLY with SB buggs way hard. I agree with you about a "choose your own adventure" option for the credits. More MV is always appreciated around these parts.
As for Weiss, I really liked him more before. He was kind of dorky and always liked magic in S1-S3 but he wasn't nearly as awk. Now that he's with Nadia he seems a bit too oafish and silly. I wish we could learn something more about him that would make him more interesting. Now, his storyline is so 9th grade...

Not sure if we talked about this--but how much do I hate the title sequence! (not sure if that is the proper term) All that footage of SB synched up so she is walking at the same pace in each shot. It is so cheesy! And where the (frak?) is Vaughn? You know, I think it would be great if they would make two title sequences-one with Vaughn and one with SB, and the viewer could (somehow) choose the one SHE wants to watch. I like Weiss, but I wish they wouldn't make him so dorky. A little dorky is okay, but I never had the sense in the past that he was so awkward. Makes Vaughn look a little to stiff. Shouldn't I be doing some work right now?
